Samuel Lupin, formerly of Baltimore. Hamburger, Cor many year a prominent member of tho Philadelphia Jewish community, but since 18'JO a resident, of North 'Wales, died suddenly at his homo ill that place early on Tuesday morning, aged ti2 yours. Sir. Hamburger, who had served in both military ami civil capacities, was born in Philadelphia ill 18J17. He received his education in the public schools, and subsequently at Lutayelto College, Eastoh, from which he graduated in 18511.

He took up the study of law in the ollice of tho late Vurman Shop- purd, and was admitted to the bar In lSlil During the civil war Sir. Hamburger served as first lieutenant; was assistant udjutunt-gonoral of the First Brigade, Third Division, Cavalry Corps, Army of tho Potomac; was ttb.tlie Battle of Gettysburg in this capacity, and at six other cavalry engagements, his term of service ond- ing in August, 18611. In 18(14 Sir. Hamburger was elected a Justice of the Peace, and in I860 Associate Judge of Carbon county. On returning to Philadelphia he took tin active interest in Jewish affairs, and was for long periods president of tho Hebrew Charity Ball Association and the 'Slercantile Club.

He had for some years past been engaged in tho manufacturing business In North Wnlos. mLf Soak Mr. Muhlon Hamburger. Mrs. Bttbette Allmayer, widow or Solomon Allmayer, died on Wednesday of last week at the residence of her son, Emanuel Allmayer, in New York city.

Mrs. Allmayer had gone to Hockawny liniwh with her children to spend the summer, and was about to return when she was suddenly taken HI and died after an illness of only four days. Deceased was born In Asci'ibach, Rhelnpfalz, Germany, and came to Philadelphia about thirty-four years ago, and resided with her daughter, Mrs. Furbish, for the past seventeen years. She was one of the organizers of the Jewish Maternity Association and the Bebeecn Lodge, Sons of Benjamin.

She is survived by three daughters and one son Mrs. H. Farblsh, of this city; Mrs. II. Mlchnelis and Mrs.H.

Myers, of Xcw York, and Mr. E. Allmayer, of Xcw York. Deceased was a sister of Mr. Levi Mayer, of Philadelphia.
